Code: Cyberpunk audiobook series
For the cyberpunks who haven't lost hope! Those who cherish small victories while battling a system that feeds on despair.
1: Melody Code
Set in a small village on a peninsula. Bekka is working with what she refers to as a host who needs to make contact with someone trying to stay hidden from the drone flying above. A file on a laptop can only be unlocked by the host who has a unique way of working. With everyone involved blending in with the crowds, the tourist hotspot might get a little treat, totally ignorant of the secret plot taking place in their midst.
2: Slight of Code
Taking place in a dense urban setting. Bekka is commissioned by her boss to host a guy who wants to secretly take part in an underground card game. Using a bit of parkour to traverse the concrete jungle, she has to meet up with a coworker and swap the host to her body. Then it's off to the literal underground. There's old men on rooftops, slipping into clubs with industrial dance music, and a highrise where shoegaze fills the upper floors.
4: Matching Code
Bekka finds herself caught up in an underground fighting ring, but she's not there to win a match. She's helping her host find one of the fighters, but she does end up agreeing to help Alex, an ally from a previous mission, win a bet. Security is pretty tight, and convincing her target fighter to quit fighting should be interesting
6: Discourse Code
A festival in the desert. Large floats and other constructs roam the area like giant animals or other strange creatures. Thousands of people dance or stumble about, hyped on celebration and nano tech programs. Bekka isn't here for any of that. Games and pranks of all sorts make up the festivities, whether secretive or right out in the open. Of course, Bekka's mission is secret, and it involves the very heart of the festival, which is protected by barriers made up of old vehicles and a strange cloud. There are certain of those among the masses who are unaware of Bekka's mission, but she is looking for the same thing they are.
